SECOND EXPERIENCE

There is not that much to say about my second experience in the teaching practicum. The first thing that happened is that the teacher who was in the room when I arrived didn't want to leave and I wanted to arrange the desks and prepare some things before hand. When the teacher finally left, I did what I had to do in a hurry and I started to teach. The class was very nice and I had to explain the grammar part which not all the teachers enjoy doing. Lol.

I explained the grammar part and then I developed some activities. Something the teacher corrected me is that I have give the instructions  first when carrying out an activity and then I deliver the material students are going to use because sometimes if you give them the material first, they start developing the activity without paying attention to what you say. Another suggestion was to take into account all the students for example when you develop activities in pairs and a student remains, you have to give him something to do, maybe you ask him to take the time or something.
I really enjoyed my class.

  1. Great point you have mentioned Xavy; sometimes we just forget about the student who´s left without a classmate to work with, but we must not forget that one of our goals is to get ALL the students inmersed in the lesson or exercises we ask them to do, and what you said you did is one of the best solutions to such inconvenient.

  2. That happened to me last year, the teacher didn't like that I gave students the material with anticipation. It's good that you found something for the student with no partner, seems like it was a good class.

  3. What you were suggested about the material, I think is true because if you give material before you explain, students start working even though they do not know what you will ask them to do.
And of course, all students have to be involved in the class. There will be moments in which even you as the teacher will have to work with a student, so that you can accomplish this issue.
    Congrats!!!! keep on working hard.

  4. Something that I always remember about didactics is that the teacher used to make a lot of emphasis on the correct use of materials. You should keep it in mind. Talking about what you said that you moved the desks in a hurry, I think that it happens to many of us. Anyway, I think that for you it is not too difficult to teach the grammar part as it may be for some of us. Nice to know you are doing well.
