This third teaching experience was very nice because i
started the class on time only with a student because the others had not
arrived. Later on, they arrived, so I had to integrate them in the activities. I
had to teach the grammar part and I tried to do my best. Everything was nice,
and I think this is the best experience I have had. As always, the teacher
corrects me the pronunciation of some words. He has been correcting me the
pronunciation of some words since the first teaching experience but when he
asks me to pronounce the words; I pronounce them in the correct way. It means
that nervousness make us to mispronounce some words. This last time he told me
that I spent too much time explaining the grammar part and I think it is
because the students are not from Basic English, and I have decided to explain
it faster next time.
There is always a problem with students arriving to class late. I always say that it is ok to be nervous when you are a new teacher, just relax and pay attention to the words you are going to use; that will help you with the pronunciation.
ReplyDeleteIt is nice that you did well in your teaching.. Congrats.. and for sure what you have said is true "nervousness make us mispronounce words," but as teacher Critian says: we just to relax and be confidents in ourselves.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to deal with time, as some students understand explanations quickly, but others don't. Talking at a slower, but more secure pace, might help you to pronounce better, avoiding nervousness.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jonathan, it´s really hard to deal with time. That happens to me too because sometimes I don´t know which is the adequate time to explain the grammar part. In my personal case, I tend to go too fast because I´m afraid students get bored and lose interesting on my lesson, but I guess with more practice we will get used to doing that; what really matters is that we must do it clearly and calmly.
