My third teaching practice was very nice as I arrived late and i could not start the class on time. I developed the grammar part and I also had students develop some practice which was very nice because students were interested on doing that and they also were asking many questions. It happened to me that one student started asking questions and I answered but he insisted asking again almost the same questions. His problem is that he has watched English movies and he has seen the uses of the prepositions of time different from the uses I explained. What I answered is that the English used in movies is not in agreement with the grammatical rules of it, as when we use Spanish inappropriately, and we do not care about the rules.

I couldn’t finish the activities because a practice I carried out was very difficult for them to finish, but the activities I developed were very nice and the teacher congratulated me because of the warm up activity I developed.
At the moment of the feedback session the teacher told me the activities I developed were very nice. Something he told me is that when you present a chart containing something about grammar, and then you have students practice what you have explained; you have to leave the chart on the board because some students do not take notes and they need the chart to see if what they are doing is okay. He also insisted on constantly encouraging student to use the language.
For me this experience was very nice and I enjoyed it.

  1. Xavier,

I think that you feel more comfortable in the classroom now. I can see how much you have improved your teaching style. As I said before, you have to be prepared for any questions students might have; it is ok to say i do not know when you do not the answer.

  2. It is nice to know that you always do well. It is not common that a teacher congratulate us. But in your case it usually happens.
You should share that amount of warm ups you use and work perfectly.

  3. I can imagine that the situation with the boy was kind of strange because even when we know that things are in the way we say, we can not tell students that they are wrong. We must be very careful and explain things in the best way. Fortunately you could explain him. Congratulations.
